About Us/Submissions Policy

America’s first female-led wine review platform

Only the highest-level credentialed beverage industry experts review wines, spirits, beers, ciders and gourmet products. Led by renowned wine expert Catherine Fallis, the world’s fifth female Master Sommelier, each panelist brings their own palate, tastes, preferences, and rich experience to the table.

Planet Grape Wine Review Tasting Panel

Our technology partner

Through our partnership with Drync our reviews are available for wines in that platform (1 million downloads and 100,000 active monthly users), and are used by 22K retailers across the country including eBay Wines in their own apps and websites. Now that Drync is the powering app for top wine retailers across the country, Planet Grape‘s reviews and our expertise is available to consumers through their local wine shop when they scan or search wines on their phones.

When evaluating wines, spirits, ciders, beers and gourmet products, the Planet Grape Wine Review assigns a point score. As a sommelier, Catherine Fallis eschewed the 100-point system, preferring her own palate to the ratings of the Wine Spectator or of Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate. As a consumer wine advocate, she understands how helpful these point scores are. After being asked by a winery client to give point scores to a library collection of their wines, and by a boutique wine distributor to do the same, she has become a convert.

PG Wine Revew Tasting PanelHowever, Catherine wants you to know it is impossible to capture the heart and soul of a wine in a quick 5-minute evaluation. She and her fellow panelists make every possible effort to employ the “grape goddess 3-day rule,” where the wine is reviewed several times over 3 days, without the use of any preservation system, to see how it evolves, changes, and opens to show its full personality. Wines are evaluated alone and with food. PG Wine Reviews are tweet.5 length with no technical jargon and we use a value algorithm to promote best value wines. Reviews of samples and purchased products are supplemented by products tasted with producers either at trade tastings or at their wineries and distilleries around the world.
